aegisel
Software-defined radio hardware for finding and locating radio emitters in crowded spectrum. Designed and built in small batches by A2E Tech Limited, Edinburgh.
Purpose
aegisel builds receivers and transceivers for engineers who need to see what is on the air and where it comes from: coherent multi-channel front ends, preselection that survives strong nearby signals, and processing close to the antenna.
The work is engineering-led. Boards are designed in-house, built in controlled batches, documented properly, and adapted for customers who need something specific rather than a commodity board.

- 1989
Electronics design begins in Kyiv: industrial instruments, then PCB design and assembly as an independent business that ran for over three decades.
- 2000s
Specialisation in RF and software-defined radio: multilayer high-speed board design and the first SDR platforms derived from the USRP1 architecture.
- 2015
The aegisel brand is created, with Aegis Electronics Inc. registered in Illinois, USA, and the ASR (Aegis Software Radio) line begins.
- 2022
Relocation to Edinburgh. A2E Tech Limited, "Aegis second Electronics", is founded in Scotland.
